So seamless I was confused at first it looked so coherent. Excellent.
I agree: beautifully seamless! I love this, and I'm impressed, Sabine, that you know the word "kitschy." I know native English speakers who don't know that one. But perhaps it's a German word, too...?
Yes, Fi - in German it´s "kitschig". I wonder that this is not such a "popular" word in English. If I use the google translator for "kitschig" there are translations like this: corny, tacky, cheesy, gaudy, tawdry ..... these are words which I do not know ;-)
"Kitsch" is a Yiddish word meaning "gaudy trash". It is used quite a bit for tacky collectible "this & that" in the antiques and collectibles trade. I was surprised you used that word for your beautiful collage as this is how I know the word to be used.
OMG - I think I will never learn English ..... "kitschig" in the German sense is more like trashy, "mawkish".... not in the sense of "this and that" ..... Yes - sometimes it´s hard with the foreign languages .... I will not know which stupids things I am writing here ... - haha
Hey, Sabine, don't worry one bit about your English! It's not only accomplished, but is improving by leaps and bounds. I think "mawkish," which is roughly equivalent to "cheesy"—i.e., unpleasantly sentimental—is a fine synonym for "kitschy."I love language! I could write about it all day, so will try to rein myself in.
Thanks Fi for your kind words regarding my English :-)
Wonderful combination Sabine!
