  2. F A N T A S T I C piece.

    I hate to make comparisons but one of my favorite artists is painter Marsden Hartley (1877-1943). Check out this link to read about Hartley and see one of his most famous pieces "Portrait of a German Officer" 1914.

    Your collage excited me with it's Hartley-esque echos and renewed my interest in his work and I think I will have a look at my books about him later today.

  3. Thanks both. I havent heard of Marsden Hartley but I can see what you mean. Not sure the balance is quite right in this one but I decided to stop whilst I was ahead!

  4. It's dada! I can definitely see the influence of Schwitters on this piece, but the colors, as Angie said, are classic Marsden Hartley. Well done!
